1. Train with a good makeup school

2. Open an Instagram account
What better way to advertise your skills than to show them off on Instagram? Every makeup artist MUST own an instgram account (unless of course you want to remain low-key) and make sure to post every single work you do on there.

3. Get a good camera

The quality of your photos is as important as the makeup itself. Bad cameras will definitely do your work no justice, and you should always aim to make every photo as perfect as possible.

4. Download filter apps

Don’t be deceived, a lot of successful makeup artists use some extra help to get their works to come out looking as pretty as they end up looking. Filter apps are very valuable tools for everyone who wants to run a successful makeup business.

5. Get your sisters/friends to be your models
Gather as many sisters and friends as you have and beat their faces regularly. This way, you’ll have pictures to put up and show off on social media.

6. Make sure your brows are always on fleek!
Ladies, never go out with badly or hurriedly drawn brows, for any reason whatsoever. Brows are the major selling points of makeup and you want to leave a good impression at all times.

7. Befriend other makeup artists

You need to target the most popular makeup artists and try to get them to be your friends. Stalk their pages, get friendly, comment on their posts and suggest meet ups if possible. You need to know who they know, see what they see, breathe the same air as them. Let them show you the way!

8. Famz celebs
This is another reason why you need to be friendly with other people that do what you do. A lot of them know celebs and work for them from time to time. You know what gets everyone excited? Celebrities!
Nothing says ‘I’m a pro’ better than a well-known celeb smiling on your page, with her face-beat done by good ol’ you.
Follow them around and sell yourself to them. Some of them are actually very nice and supportive, and just might end up falling in love with your work.

9. Be creative

You cannot make a name for yourself or stand out if you are not creative with your work. You have to give people reason to come to you. Think out of the box, do crazy, outrageous styles and display them on your page. The point is to show how passionate you are about your work and show how versatile you can be.

10. Up your hustle game

No one succeeds in this business by just sitting around and waiting for clients to come to them. Girl, you have to put in work.

President Buhari to Visit Edo Next Week

 
Nigeria's President is set to visit Edo State next week Monday and Tuesday respectively.
The visit is part of activities lined up for the send forth party organized by the state government in honour of the outgoing Governor Adams Oshiomhole whose tenure will end next week after eight years in office as governor of the state.
According to a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Julius Ihonvbere and made available to nesmen in Benin the state capital, the President will use the occasion of his historic visit to pay a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty, Omo n'Oba n'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II.
He is expected to also commission several key projects in the state, including the new 5-Star Central Hospital in Benin City; the Upper Siluko road and the Samuel Ogbemudia College (formerly New Era College, Benin City, amongst others.

Soyinka Promises to Cut US Green Card if Trump Wins

Nigeria’s Nobel Prize laureate Wole Soyinka has said he will cut up his green card if Donald Trump emerges as winner of the US presidential election.

The green card is a permanent residence permit for the US – prized by many African immigrants to the US.

According to the BBC, his comments emerged in the video of a conversation with students at Oxford University in the UK.

The famous author appears to be taking a swipe at Mr. Trump over his radical stance on immigration.

Soyinka is one of Africa’s most celebrated literary figures. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986 – becoming the first African to be honoured in that category.

American voters go to the polls next Tuesday and latest polls show Mr. Trump and his rival Hillary Clinton are neck and neck.

Mr. Trump is famous for his promise to build a wall to keep Mexican immigrants out of the US if he makes it to the White House.

Under his hardline proposals, every illegal immigrant currently in the US would be subject to deportation if he wins the election.

He has said there will be no pathway to citizenship or even legal status for them unless they leave the country and get in line with everyone else who wants to enter the US, subject to the normal immigration procedures.

Prof. Soyinka said he feared the Republican candidate would ask all green-card holders to reapply to come back into the US.

“Well, I’m not waiting for that,” the Nigerian author told his student audience.

“The moment they announce his (Trump’s) victory, I will cut my green card myself and start packing up,” he added.

Kim and Kanye fires longtime bodyguard Pascal Duvier a month after Paris robbery

 A month after Kim was robbed of $11million worth of jewels in Paris, the bodyguard who was tasked to take care of her, Pascal Duvier, has been sacked. Pascal, who has been with the Kardashian family since 2012, was reportedly sacked this week by Kim and her husband, Kanye.

 
According to Entertainment Tonight, Pascal wasn't the only one who was let go. "Pascal, along with a couple other security members of their team, were recently let go by Kim and Kanye. 5 Morning Rituals for a Healthy Life

Many of us start the morning by brushing our teeth, taking a shower and making a cup of coffee. Those are all good and fine routines, but adding a few more steps can help inspire weight loss and sustainable healthy habits.

I've found that it's easier for me to maintain healthy habits in the morning than the evening and when I start the morning off right, it's easier for me to maintain healthy habits throughout the day.

If you find doing all of these rituals overwhelming, pick three and start practicing them. You can always add the others in the future.

1. Fill a water bottle.

Staying hydrated will help you lose more weight, according to this study. One of the best ways to increase water intake is to carry a bottle of water everywhere you go. So fill your water bottle every morning. While you're at it, drink one or two glasses of water before you leave the house. Aim to drink 2 to 3 liters of water each day.

2. Do 20 minutes of strength training.

Morning hours are the best time to exercise since there are usually no distractions and willpower is intact. Strength training will boost your metabolism and keep you energetic throughout the day. You can do different bodyweight exercises that target arms, legs or the core. Alternatively, you can do dynamic stretches.

If your current schedule doesn't allow time for a morning workout, wake up 20 minutes earlier.

3. Eat a high fiber breakfast.

Eating high fiber foods will give you energy and you'll be less hungry at lunch. Stay away from muffins, breads and other sugary foods because they spike insulin and trigger cravings.

The best breakfast combo is a protein like quinoa, nuts or tofu scramble with high-fiber foods like fruits or veggies. One study found that people who ate at least 35 grams of proteins for breakfast stabilized glucose levels, reduced total daily food intake and didn't gain fat.

4. Pack your snacks.

You're more likely to snack on unhealthy foods if you don't carry a snack. Eating healthy snacks will keep hunger at bay and prevent binging. After filling your water bottle, pack your snacks and carry them to work.

5. Go through your diet and exercise goals.

Most of us forget about our goals as soon as we set them. Reminding yourself of your goals will keep you motivated and prevent you from falling off the wagon. Write down your weight loss goals on a pad and stick it somewhere you can read every morning.
