The Gunners’ potential stars of the future are showing off skills they learned under a special coach for their Uefa’s ‘Skill School’ feature ahead of their Youth Champions League match against Dinamo Zagreb this week and that coach is none other than Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry.
Most of the squad proved they have some pretty silky skills, with left-back Ilias Chatzitheodoridis impressing early.
Henry has been
making his way up through the ranks of the Arsenal backroom staff in a
bid to further football management ambitions.
Henry played for Arsenal between 1999 and 2007, during which he won two Premier League titles.
The second of those came as part of Arsene Wenger’s ‘Invincibles’ who had an unbeaten run in their 2003-04 campaign.
After playing for Spanish giants Barcelona
and MLS side New York Red Bulls, Henry returned to Arsenal briefly on a
loan in 2012 during the American close season.
Henry has also worked as a television
pundit for Sky Sports after retiring from the game and is currently
studying to gain his coaching badges.
